Misc Trips

Siena, Modena, and Pisa! Many smaller, but equally as fun trips.

A photo of me with a view of the main part of Siena behind me. You can see a large tower and a castle in the back. Below it is a photo that I took of the big tower from up close. SIENA:

Siena was a duo day trip I went on with my friend, Mica! Its known for its beautiful medieval architecture and delicious food. There were so many local shops and restaurants, I wish I would have spent multiple days there!

I also tried something I've been meaning to try for a very long time, Cacio e pepe. Only to find out from my professor the next day that its meant to be a winter food. It was 90 degrees outside. Oops!

MODENA:

Modena was a school trip that we went on that took us to the Ferrari Museum and a Parmesan Cheese factory! Both were super cool experiences that taught me so much! Its incredible to be able to experience those things in the heart of where they are made.

The rest of the town really prides itself on its pasta, specifically tortelloni/tortellini. Which is GREAT for me because that is my all time favorite pasta shape. You do not want to know the amount of tortellini merch I came home with. A photo of me in front of a red ferrari sports car at the ferrari museum, and a photo of me in front of hundreds of wheels of cheese at the parmesan factory.

A photo of me pretending to hold up the leaning tower of Pisa. I am in a yellow shirt and dark blue jeans. PISA:

Pisa was the very first trip I went on, and I went solo! Which you can imagine made it very hard to get the iconic "holding the tower" picture. Thankfully I ran into two very nice Australian ladies that helped me out.

This was a trip I knew I wanted to take before I even got accepted to the program. It is such an iconic site, how could I not go? It ended up being very peaceful and I just sat under a tree and did some plein air drawings.
