Hi! My name is Lucy, and this summer I had the priveledge of studying abroad in Florence, Italy! I went on many adventures and met so many fun people, so I figured I should document my travels in a fun, scrapbook-esque website.
Please Enjoy :)
The process to even get to studying abroad was crazy! There were so many twists and turns and meetings and paperwork, but in the end it was so worth it! The lovely university that hosted me is called Lorenzo de Medici. They were so kind and offered many extracurriculars, which is where I met most of my friends!
Lorenzo de Medici is actually an international institute! This means that it is dedicated to taking in international students for study abroad. While most of the people there were from America (and a shocking amount from North Carolina), I did meet some pretty incredible people from Germany, Argentina, the Netherlands, and other cool places!
I'm super grateful to have had the opportunity to expand my worldview and learn so much about other peoples' cultures!
Through my classes in Brand Design and The History of Renaissance Florence, I was truly able to become immersed in Italian culture. As I was reflecting on my time in Italy, I could not tell if it felt like I was there for a few days or a few YEARS.
Overall it was such an incredible experience and I would do it over and over again. I hope I give you at least a little glimpse into the wonderful time I had, and I hope it encourages you to study abroad as well!
